It still goes on. Have you ever heard of "cognitive distortions?" It's a term some psychologist came up with to describe a type of thinking that's of irrational and usually makes us upset. One of them is mind-reading. It's when we assume we know what others are thinking, and paint some sort of perception.

I never thought it could be used externally, y'know? Just knowing that others can't read my mind, makes people seem less objective.

Because of that, I will not expect others to say the right thing.
I won't place responsibility on my heroes.

What I want, I can only give to myself.

Of course, this is no reason to be cruel or coldly cynical. I'm not preaching that I don't care. It's not "cool" to be apathetic, at least to me, there's just some things that matter a little less now.
